"If I could give 0 stars, I would. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with an insurance company. On multiple occasions, claims for both myself and my children have been denied even after I took every reasonable step to ensure the providers were in-network before scheduling our appointments. Before every visit, I contacted EmblemHealth directly, provided the provider’s information, and was explicitly told by a representative that the provider was in-network. I documented the reference numbers for these calls and relied on the information provided by EmblemHealth. In many cases, I also located the providers through EmblemHealth’s own website. Despite doing everything correctly, the claims were still denied. Since then, I have spent countless hours on the phone with EmblemHealth and with multiple providers’ billing departments trying to resolve these issues. I have repeatedly provided the reference numbers from the verification calls, yet there has been little to no resolution. Every conversation ends with promises of follow-up that never happen, leaving me to continue chasing answers and fighting for claims that should have been handled correctly from the start. As a policyholder who pays premiums on time and has never missed a payment, I have upheld my responsibilities. Why isn’t EmblemHealth doing the same? Why are customers being left with financial burdens that should be covered based on information provided directly by your own representatives? I have also requested to speak with a manager on multiple occasions, only to be told repeatedly that they are unavailable or out of the office. At what point does accountability come into the picture? What makes this even more disappointing is that EmblemHealth publicly promotes values such as “Empower, Deliver, and Do It Together,” along with a commitment to putting communities and customers first. Based on my experience, I have to question whether those values are actually being upheld. Does “Do It Together” mean that I, the policyholder, have to do all the work—calling repeatedly, verifying providers, documenting reference numbers, coordinating with billing departments, following up on unresolved issues, and chasing promised callbacks—while EmblemHealth fails to fulfill its responsibilities? It feels like being assigned to a group project where one person does all the work while the other person gets all the credit. I have done everything expected of me: verified providers in advance, paid my premiums on time, kept records of my conversations, and invested countless hours trying to resolve these issues. Yet the burden continues to fall entirely on me. If EmblemHealth truly stands behind its mission and values, then accountability should be shared, commitments should be honored, and customers should not have to fight for benefits that were verified and promised in the first place. I’m not looking for excuses or empty apologies, I am looking for accountability, transparency, and a meaningful resolution. At this point, I have lost confidence in the level of service EmblemHealth provides and sincerely hope no other family has to go through the same experience."

"I would give zero stars if that was an option. Although Emblemhealth touts national coverage through the plan I am enrolled in, their coverage in upstate NY is severely lacking. I spent over 20 hours on multiple calls to prove their provider directory is inaccurate. All the documentation and information i provided to them, including a possible solution, fell on deaf ears. Staff lacks in depth knowledge and lack of effective troubleshooting. Needless to say, I will be changing providers come OpenEnrollment. Going with a brand name provider."

"EmblemHealth’s Denial Is Not Healthcare I usually share positive posts, but this needs to be said. My doctor determined that I meet the medical criteria for Zepbound and documented that it is medically necessary. EmblemHealth continues to deny coverage without a valid clinical reason. When an insurer overrides a physician’s judgment and blocks FDA approved, evidence based care, it interferes with patient care. Cost saving policies should not replace individualized medical decisions. These denials are documented. The Appeals process is a joke, but I am prepared to escalate this matter further (NYS Attorney General's office). Healthcare should not require endurance or silence. EmblemHealth, respect clinical judgment and put patients first. #PatientRights #HealthcareAccountability #InsuranceDenials #LetDoctorsDecide #PriorAuthorizationAbuse #ObesityIsADisease #Zepbound #SleepApnea"

"I have had this insurance my entire life. The key is to be proactive and not just assume the doctors know how your coverage works. The wait times in the offices are short. The doctors, nurses and staff are professional and courteous and the facilities are clean. They’re located in very convenient locations. They have great wellness programs and it’s fast and easy to schedule appointments. My only issue is they sometimes there is a lack of communication between the physicians and the diagnostic testing offices. Sometimes the results don’t get to my doctor in a timely fashion and I hate how expensive the prescription rider is. But overall I love this health plan🏥"
